“Drew’s joyful, loving and infectious spirit continues to live on in our hearts and in our home, even after so many years without him. It is a gift to our healing hearts to continue loving others who are battling pediatric cancer in Drew’s honor and memory. We can’t imagine a better way to honor such a special day than making the holiday season a little brighter for those facing hard battles in our Charlotte community.” – Mandy Slocum, Drew’s mom
Help bring comfort and joy this holiday season to families battling childhood cancer in our Charlotte hospitals!
In honor of what would be Drew Slocum’s 10th birthday on November 12th, Claire’s Army and Drew’s Crew are collaborating to collect gift cards and donations. They will be given directly to patient families so THEY may shop and prepare for their celebrations this season. We have a goal to collect $5,000, which would provide $200 for 25 families. The Slocum family will deliver all collected gift cards as well as gift cards we purchase from financial contributions to both Levine Children’s and Hemby Children’s Hospital the week of November 28th.
When: Monday November 7th – Sunday, November 27th
What: Target & Amazon Gift cards ($25 or more increments) OR donate here (Claire’s Army will purchase gift cards on your behalf)
Where: mail to Claire’s Army PO Box 78571, Charlotte, NC 28271

“This Holiday Hope Donation Drive is a program that will provide for families who are fighting their hardest fight during what can be an incredibly difficult time of year. We’ve been there and know first hand how hopelessness can impact what should be a joyful time of year. Showing up, loving others well and providing in their time of need helps bring a little COMFORT & JOY to their holidays, all while helping to provide healing to our grieving hearts.” The Slocum Family
We are friends of the Slocum’s and we honor Drew and all others in regard to this post and request. We, along with all others, seek a cure…and in lieu of that in waiting, join in support.
In memory of Drew Slocum and celebrating his 10th birthday in heaven! Cindy and Brent Cousins
