Joe Angelon

vice president, Board of Directors

Joe Angelon, an East Carolina University alumnus, began his career with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte in 2005. Over the course of his career, he has held positions at the Johnston, Childress Klein, Gateway Village and Dowd YMCA’s and currently serves as District Executive Director. In this role, Joe provides strategic and operational leadership to the Dowd, Childress Klein and Gateway Village YMCAs which boast a collective membership base of over 20,000 people and 250 staff team members.

He was introduced to Claire through her mom Emily who worked along side him at the Y during her original diagnosis and ensuing treatment. Claire’s battle coupled with the loss of his mother-in-law to breast cancer fueled his passion for ending pediatric cancer and doing whatever is necessary to support families affected by the disease.

Joe originally from Long Island, NY now lives in Matthews, North Carolina, along with his wife Daniela, three children and two dogs.  They are members of St. Matthew Catholic Church and Joe is a long time volunteer baseball coach at Matthews Athletic & Recreation Association.  In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and being active.

SERVE FAMILIES. LOVE KIDS. FIGHT CANCER.
